What is BOSTONavigator?
BOSTONavigator is an online directory of the most current information about Boston's out-of-school time opportunities. Created through a collaboration of the City of Boston, BOSTnet, and Boston After School & Beyond, BOSTONavigator is a valuable online resource for children and youth, parents, guardians, and other caring adults to find youth programming in their neighborhoods. Whatever your interests – sports, arts, academics, community service, the environment – you can find out what opportunities are available for Boston youth.
What kinds of programs are included in BOSTONavigator?
BOSTONavigator tracks programs that:
- are located in the City of Boston;
- provide staff supervision for youth age 5 to 18; and
- operate during out-of-school time (including before school, after school, summers, weekends and school vacations).
What kinds of listings are not included in BOSTONavigator?
BOSTONavigator does not currently include the following:
- Hotlines and other information-only resources for youth, families and youth workers.
- Unstructured or unsupervised activities that youth or their families can participate in (for example, riding the swan boats in Boston Common).
- Facilities (such as playing fields, pools, etc.) that are available to children and youth.

How do I find what programs are available for my child's age?
Select your child's age from the AGE dropdown menu and click FIND. This will give you the largest list of programs serving your child's age group. You can narrow the results by adding a zip code or activity before clicking the FIND button.
How do I find programs in a specific neighborhood?
To search by location, type a zip code into the ZIPCODE box. For example, you can search in the area near your home, your job, or your child's school. Click the word ZIPCODE to see a map of the City and the zip codes in each neighborhood.
What if I know the name of a program and I want to find more information about it?
Click on ALTERNATE SEARCH BY KEYWORD at the bottom of the orange bar. Then type in any portion of the organization or program name and click the SEARCH button. (You can use either the Keyword search or the Program Locator boxes in the orange bar, but not both together.) If your search doesn't return any results, try typing in a smaller portion of the name, or try a different spelling.
